The space on the door is the best I™€™ve ever had. Holds a gallon of milk or more, designed to store tall bottles like wine bottles, even holds a water purifier that is easy to get in and out. Would have preferred glass shelving to wire shelves. Only negative is that it is very loud when running. Still not used to how loud it is.

On March 12 2026 we bought this GE 16.6 Cu. Ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator ™€“ GTS17DTNRBB because our old one died, there were only 2 choices of short refrigerators, and yours had great reviews. It cost $748. When we got it, it was EXTREMELY loud; we could hear it even in the bedrooms at both ends of the house. We called the dealer Merits in Klamath Falls March 23rd and asked to return it. It seemed obviously defective. They said on the phone that there are new laws that make all new refrigerators loud. We sent them audio that they requested and they weren't concerned™€¦sounded just fine to them. I asked if we could exchange it for a different brand and they said new ones are all louder now so a different brand would probably be just as loud. Then a guy from Merits on the phone said it™€™s because we have particle board behind it that makes it sound loud. Later he said plywood makes it sound loud. We pulled it out from the wall and it was still extremely loud. I went to a neighbor™€™s home who just bought a different brand from them, and we had to put our ear up to it to hear it. She came over and listened to ours and was appalled at the noise. (it was sort of like a loud portable air conditioner or dysfunctional fan). They said before we get rid of it they'll send a repairman. He said it wasn't very loud, tweaked something in motor and said that it is fine now. It was still just as loud. Then he rudely said, since we bought a cheap refrigerator that it didn™€™t have the newer sound controls. Sort of like, we got what we paid for. So it was making us nuts when we were anywhere in the house and dreaded every time the motor came on. So we went to Merits and said we wanted to trade it for an LG that they had in stock. It sounded heavenly quiet. At least the delivery man who eventually brought it out was very nice, not condescending and not lying to us like the others. This is the quietest fridge we™€™ve ever heard. We feel it™€™s extremely unfair to be charged a $277 restocking and delivery fee because it was obviously defective, not only that charge, but also the fee to have them deliver the new one and remove the one we wanted removed right away. We liked everything else about the GE. And the new one we had to buy to fit our small space was more expensive. Please help us get our money refunded since we wanted to get rid of the GE right away and they did their best to dissuade us from returning it.

I had an ENORMOUS bottom freezer fridge and it took up a lot of space. This new fridge I just purchased is exactly what I wanted and needed! There is plenty of space on shelves and the door. When I was looking at it in the store, the agent asked if I minded the wire racks. That would be the least of my worries. As long as I can store my food on it, I don't care if it is wire or glass! Besides, if the grandkids are over, there will be no glass broken. This fridge is perfect for me and has plenty of freezer space as far as I'm concerned.

Appliance is great and performs as advertised. Keeps things cold in a very lovely looking exterior. Third party delivery company was extremely subpar. The shipper which GE Appliances contracted with in Vermont, Spirit Logistics of Winooski, Vermont did a horrible job. They got the original delivery date wrong even though GE had alerted me to the fact that the product was back ordered. The delivery company kept me waiting around almost all day until they finally confirmed, after speaking with me twice during the day to confirm the order was en route, that in fact the refrigerator was not even on the truck. The second time they scheduled the delivery they did not even contact me the day before. They kept me waiting again all day when the original delivery window was between 10-1. The delivery truck did not show until 5PM and the driver and his partner did not speak english. I will never accept another delivery from Spirit Logistics since their customer service was so inadequate.
